With professional order tracking and management, Project Whale empowers The Whale Café to provide a seamless and efficient ordering experience for their customers.
The Whale Café had a problem.
For a student-run café that only operated during lunch break, it was doing unexpectedly well, receiving 20+ orders an hour...
If only they actually made the drinks!
Because of a slow and inefficient ordering process, the café had a whopping 34% refund rate as customers constantly complained of missing drinks.
And the payment rate was only 55% due to a "pay later" system that was difficult to manage.
Developed with Next.js, Project Whale integrates the school identity portal to track student orders and payments, enabling data-driven decisions about café operations.
It also supports pre-ordering when the café is closed and provides a dynamic quota to ensure that the café never runs out of drinks.
